Taking
inspiration from Otto Dix’s famous portrait ‘The Dancer’ I created a modernised
interpretation of Anita Berber but keeping within the 1920’s traditional style.
For the base of this look I used a foundation that was a few tones lighter than
my natural skin tone as Anita was usually seen to be fair skinned. I used a
mixture of dark purples, maroons and reds to create the smoky eye look, and two
different shades on my lips to create depth. Again keeping within the colour
scheme I contoured my cheeks using purple and pinks.
What I intend to change when creating my final image, is making the foundation paler to give my model a porcelain doll like complexion
