I imagine Anita Berber to be a sort of 1920's Amy Winehouse
if you will. Researching modern interpretations of Anita Berber, there are many
that have inspired me to do my own take on this iconic woman.
After a
little research I found Illamasqua's exhibition 'Theatre of the Nameless',
Inspired by the Anita Berber herself. Progressing on the themes of underworld subcultures and
German exhibitionists, The Theatre of The Nameless was born and thrives in being
a dark and intense night-time make-up.
What I love about this interpretation of Anita Berber is the purple hues that are applied around the eyes and cheeks,I think this is stunning although on my version of Anita Berber I'd like to do something slightly more subtle.
